Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire: Building #1 - Pokemon Center

Hi! Here is the Pokemon Ruby/ Sapphire Pokemon Center in 1:60 scale. :D

I think my photography skills are getting better! :D

And here is an Inkscape practice piece. I really should do this more often. After completing the Inkscape quick manual, I found I was able to draw and color faster than before.

Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire: Building #2 - Pokemon Mart

Here is the new  Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Poke Mart paper model! I think it's somewhere in the 1:60 scale but then again it might not be accurate because I'm basing my models in the game tilesets. I have no idea what I was thinking when I decided to change scale but it sure is easier to assemble.

Glorious red!

Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire: Building#1: Pokemon Center - WIP

Here is a sneak peek on how far I've finished the model. Printed in greyscale.

I really like making pokemon centers! :)

I've found problems with some of the wall tabs. So, I need to fix that before releasing the template. Also, there was an error in the PDF conversion from Inkscape on the dashed line below the 'P.C.' sign. And I don't know how to fix that because it looks fine when the PDF file is opened with Inkscape...

I'm using Inkscape version 0.48.2. I'm hoping this will be fixed when I upgrade to the current version. If anyone knows how to fix this, please message me.

Parol - Pokeball

Hi guys! Because of the recent calamities that happened here in the Philippines, I would like to thank all those who have helped and donated to my country. Every little help counts!

As a sign of my gratitude, I give you all this Pokeball Parol! For those that don't know, a parol is a star shaped lantern/ ornament traditionally put up during the Christmas season (September-December). This is a mini model that you can put in your Christmas tree.

Yey for updated picture!

Pacman Ghosts

Yo! I wanted to make a ghost as a decoration for my desk at the office this Halloween. And I thought I would easily find a pixelated pacman template but couldn't find any. So I quickly 3d modeled this in Sketchup by tracing a reference image and extruding the face. I made the one below by removing the color from the file and printing it on colored paper.

A4 Template: Blue | Red | Pink | Orange
Instructions: None. I know you're going to get angry with me when you see how confusing I made the assembly for this. But alternating tabs made it fit nicely together even with half-a**ed scoring and cutting (Look ma, no ruler!). I do have numbered marks telling where you should glue some of the tabs.

And for non-paper Halloween decoration, here is the spider that took me a month to make. Please excuse my mother's noob skillz in web placement. Now random passersby are taking their picture at our house's gate. :)

Rawr!

PS. Red in printer is still dead. Canon people if you're reading this, please send me a printer so I can make more papercrafts. :D

Harvest Moon DS Building#1 - WIP

I was browsing through my files and holy banana look what I found! I guess was working on the bar last year but totally forgot about it. A few more changes and off it goes to Pepakura.
Long lost 3d model just waiting to be remembered.

Pokemon Building #3

Oh yeah! Another Pokemon building is finished! It's a Pokemon house from Diamond/ Pearl (I think)! I might update the picture with something better sometime. :)

Reference image

I promise it's not really greenish.
The template allows you to build the green or blue roofed house.

Pokemon Building #3 Test Build

My laptop died this weekend and the harvestmoon model went with it. To forget that unfortunate event I went and busied myself by making this Pokemon House. A few more changes in the template and it will be released to the public.

And also my printer decided to not work properly and not print out the color red correctly. Gah! Why?!!

Harvest Moon Building #1 Test Build

This was a very bad test build. Sigh. And I've scaled it down too much. . . and . . . Sigh. Let's just say this was a very bad unfold.

Well, back to the drawing board (aka Pepakura)!

Blog Update

Oh God! It has been almost 2 years since I updated this site. So what have I been up to? Answer: Nothing much. Oh, but I was asked by my boyfriend to make a papercraft of the road train project of DOST (sister project of the AGT) after the 3D printed model didn't get delivered on time for the NSTW exhibit. I was just given 2 days to design it and in the end I gave the guys in DOST the template and instructions to make it. They did pretty well given that this is their first papercraft and they had to build 6 coaches. But I'm not surprised as some of them are Gundam kit builders. Someone just made a mistake in building the model below, the other half of the back coach was attached incorrectly. I used my Google foo in finding a video of the working model but to no avail, sorry guys. You just have to take my word that it does move. ;P

Will I ever release the template for this? Maybe. It really doesn't look much like the real thing and the chassis isn't modeled yet. And I really should resize this, 1 coach is 2 A4s in length. We'll see in the future.

But look here, it's  Batman!

Thanks to Ninjatoes for making such a great model! Here is the link to the template. It was my first time making a more complex model but this was a joy to make (except the hands). People at the office thought it was plastic and said that the belt is a really nice touch. Though, I'm pretty baffled why it came out so dark, now it looks like a cross from the TNBA Batman and the TAS Batman. Batman fans, please don't kill me.

Peace out!

P.S. I'm curious, does anyone really build my models? Send pictures so I can see them too. :D

How to make your own toilet paper shield

I've been really busy this couple of weeks and this is the only papercraft I have made. My father's 2 cats are currently living with us and they're always trying to destroy the toilet papers. I hastily made this about 2 weeks ago and realized I can't just give the template because the measurements may differ. And today I've finished making the tutorial on how to make your own toilet paper shields! Yey! If your toilet paper holder might have a different design, you might need to make some adjustments to the shield design.

The trouble makers! Mat(left) and Kim(right)

The picture below shows what the shield should look like with this type of toilet paper holder. As you can see, the cats had an opportunity to shred the toilet paper while I was making the shield. You can see the tutorial after the cut.

If you think my works are worth something, you may donate to PAWS using Paypal. PAWS is one of 3 non-government organizations I know in the Philippines that rescues animals from cruelty and neglect. Aside from taking care of animals in their animal shelter, they are also volunteering in caring for animals in flooded towns caused by typhoons. They have a one time gift option at the bottom of the online donation page. Happy Holidays!!!

Pokemon Building #2

I bring you the Pokemon Center papercraft! Assembly is similar to the pokemon mart.

Yesterday I was browsing some Pokemon Diamond screen shots and realized that the PC and PM only have the gray posts at the front of the building. I didn't want to remove the posts around the building so it won't look boring at the back.

I really should have made papercraft buildings of games I actually played. Like Harvest Moon... hmmm... not a bad idea.

Pokemon Building #1

It's a pokemon building papercraft! I might do the others if I have time. Lots of pictures after the cut.

I'm not quite sure if this is what it's supposed to look like but it's the best I could do after staring at the 2D sprites from the game.

Kitty Cats!

Here are the cats to go along with your Yasmine papercraft! A little harder than usual because it's cylindrical and both ends are to be closed. For easier assembly, use a glue with a faster drying time than Elmer's glue.

I just re-textured the papercraft cat from here. Also changed the feet to so that both sides will have color on it. You can rescale it using Foxit pdf reader to make it smaller.

Really confusing Assembly Instructions: Cut the template. Fold and glue the ears, tail and feet. Pre-curl (is that even a word?) the body by running it along a side of the table so it will curve easily. Insert the feet through the slits at the bottom of the body. Glue the body to form a elliptical cylinder. Close the model by gluing the face and the butt to the body.

Yasmine (catvshuman) Papercraft

I love Yasmine's comics! I check every morning if she made a new one. :)
Visit her at catversushuman!

Here's a Yasmine papercraft. I used the Felpurr Class of Heroes papercraft as a template.

Instruction: First print the front pdf file then print the back pdf at the back of your paper (this is so that the hair will have color on both sides). Form the head, hair, body an feet. Attach the arms at the top of the body. Attach head to the hair. Attach legs to the body and try to make it stand to see if it's not wobbly. Adjust until you get it right and let the glue dry. Attach the head to the body. Start at the center of the bottom of the head and adjust the position of the body until it won't topple over.

Porcupine Pen Holder

Here is a porcupine pen holder papercraft I made. Actually there's no porcupines in my country so it might not actually look like a real one.

I made this using 200gsm paper and I glued black construction paper at the back so that the inside of the porcupine will be black. It won't close properly because of the thickness. Maybe a 100gsm paper would do if you're going to do it this way.

Note: Attach (1) and (2) first to (3) then close at the bottom.

Template and more pictures after the cut.

Patapon logo

Here is the Patapon logo as a papercraft! Patapon is a rhythm game for the PSP.

It was really challenging to design the eye part. I tweaked and printed it again and again until it was just right. If anyone has a better method other than the one I did, please do tell me how. I have now massive respect to all the paper modelers out there!

I made this by printing a blank template in 200gsm paper and painted it black. Printed out the eye portion and glued it to the body.

Here's the colored version of one of my previous posts, Blank Robot. The design is pretty much the same as the one I drew by hand.

Mini Witch's Hat

To celebrate Halloween, I made a mini witch's hat for my cats. I also took pictures of our neighbor's cats with the hat. 3 out of 5 cats tried to destroy it. So I'm really happy about the quality of the papercraft.

I made it by printing the template in white paper (200 gsm). Assembled it then painted it black using acrylic paint. I added ribbons so I can tie it around their head.

More cat pictures and template after the cut.
